Time to make some decisions ~ need advice!

My 96 Camaro has about 60k on the clock. I have just purchased a 6 speed to convert it from an A4. I have a set of shorty headers with an offroad pipe. Other than a CAI and 3.73 gears, the drivetrain is pretty stock. I'd like to make 375-400 horse at the crank, but I want to avoid pulling the engine and doing a rebuild. I would consider porting my cylinder heads, as I'm trying to keep this on some type of a budget!
I would appreciate any advice on cams, tb's, valves/springs, etc!

Thanks!!!

Speedy

You need to decide what kind of driving you expect to do. Then you decide on your cam, springs, RRs, etc.JMHO

Hi Bubba,

Very good point. Sorry I forgot to include my driving style. I would like to race the car once or twice a year at the dragstrip (test and tune days). A little spirited street driving from time to time, and I would like to participate in a one day session at a road course sponsored by our local camaro club each year.

Of course, there will be many cruise nights to attend too!

Well, if you want street and strip on a budget, the Hot Cam kit would probably put you in the ball park. It would be a rather mild combo, but would be tolerable as a daily driver and provide respectable perforance both on and off the track.

You would need a good tune along with your mods. JMHO
