Tierod question threads/degree
Tierod question threads/degree
Ok I recently changed one of my tierod ends and I guess the new one was a bit longer because my tire is now a few degrees out. I figure I can pop the tierod end out twist it into the rack a spin or 2 and get it back in alignment. I know I need a pro alignment done but I don't have the time as I am leaving for vacation soon. and I want to change the other tie rod end for good measure then get the alignment professionally done. So bottome line question is:
How much will the tire toe in per spin of the tie rod into the rack?
How much will the tire toe in per spin of the tie rod into the rack?

I don't know the relation of turns to degrees.
You only have to loosen the lock nut and turn the inner tie rod on the wrench flats to make the adjustment. No need to remove the joint from the knuckle.

So the tie rod itself would spin... Is the tie rod end or rack counter threaded? I didn't notice that the tie-rod had flat spots for that. I assume I would have noticed when I got there though. Thanks.
EDIT: Any pictures?.... just kidding.

I do have a pic somewhere, but can't find it.

[edit] Found a pic . You can see the flats in the foreground-a little blurry.
