ticking lifter..how to fix?

Well guys, my mechanic told me my ticking lifter can be fixed. He said when I change the oil to add something into it, I forget what its called but its made by Lucas Oil. Does anybody have any idea?

Skimp on the mystery oil.

Ticking is more often than not an exhaust leak btw...

If it were to somehow be your lifters (i doubt it)... you just pull the intake manifold off, replace the lifters, and call it a day. $200 fix.

Re: ticking lifter..how to fix?

the lucas he's talking about is really good stuff. i know people who rely on it...and i use it too. i wouldnt go as far as exceeding the directions like a few people i know...but they swear by it. any way it's just lucas oil additive. the bottle is bigger than a quart so measure it out and replace 1Q with lucas at your next oil change.

to tell all you non believers something...i bought a jeep out of the junk yard that had some problems with both diffs, valve or rocker tapping, or lifter problem...something like that. any way, put lucas synthetic oil in the diffs and lucas in the engine and i no longer have any taps and 4wd works propperly with no grinding or clutch slipping. my LSDs work propperly again, i'm getting a mileage equivalent to that of a brand new 4.0 liter motor.

my camaro has lucas in the dif and i replace 1q when i change my oil.
