Well it can be heard best with a yard stick(ya know old mechanic trick) on top back quarter of engine on driver side its in sink with the motor and its not under valve covers b/c u cant hear it there can hear it best when ur about 5 inches behind(towards cab) pcv valve on top of motor thats about all i got that and car occasionally misses at high rpm and smokin a bit but i think thats b/c car got to hot a while back and prob scorched some of the rings n stuff not to mention engine shakes now and about 3 weeks ago it didnt even move oh yeah one more thing its got 190k on it

It could be an exhaust leak, that might be a good place to start. Did you do headers at any point? It sounds like there could be more than one thing wrong with it but that could be the source of th ticking sound.

Could be a piston skirt,valve hitting piston(broken spring) I wouldn't run it any more until the problem is found. Ya may sacrifice your block and a head if ya do. MORE$$$$$$$
