Angry Thrust issue

1994 camaro z28, yesterday I punched the throttle the something under the car popped and was very loud and sounded like it hit the under cariage. If you grandpa it it drives really good, but if you get on it hard it countinues too make that god awful noise. I thought at first I broke a U-joint, but obviously not since i'm still driving it. jack it up, checked everything quickly but didn't notice anything. transmission mount, drive line, and pinoin all seems good. I'm going too pull it over a pit tomarrow and do a better check. any ideas??? It scared the **** outta me!! something isn't holding up under a load.....

Re: Thrust issue

Really sounds like a transmission mount. I know you checked that, but it's the first thing that came to mind.

Re: Thrust issue

Did you pry up under the tranny mount on to the cross member? I have had them break and just wear out and flex a lot on mine and still thump.

Re: Thrust issue

mine did a similar thing and it happened to be the torque arm came unbolted from its front mount. was hard to see on my first quick inspection.
