Throttle not opening all the way, 93 TV cable related

The throttle on my car isnt opening all the way, just about 75-80% of the way, If I unclip the throttle valve cable it opens fine, then when you put it back on it dont open all the way, so it's like it's too tight. If I loosen the setting i'll shift out of 1st at like 20mph, and 2nd at like 40mph. think maybe I have a too short of cable? nothing is phsyically blocking it from opening either. Thanks for any help.

Yeah if I do the open the throttle all the way and pull the cable back as far as it'll go method, the tranny will shift out of 1st at 20 and 2nd at 40 which is way late. This tranny has been rebuilt, the cable looks kinda new, thats why I'm thinkin the cable is too short, cus if I pull the cable back it'll be able to open all the way.

well if the tranny has recentlt been rebuilt then maybe it has the wrong governor in it. i think that is what it was called, i have heard that the V6 one from a 93 will help this. never tried it tho. and what rpm does it shift at?? mine shifts at 4,500. i just manual shift it if im gna have some fun.

I dont know i'll have to mess around with some more when it's a little warmer, but yeah mine shift at 4,500 at WOT, which is kinda early I think. If the throttle was open all the way, and if I manualy shift I could get some better times dang it. Thanks for the input.
