I'm glad someone else brought this up. I remember seeing a thread about it a while back, and there was a filter you could buy from Advance to go in between the valve cover and TB. But I can't for the life of me remember what the part number was. Been trying to search for it for a while.

I'm sure Advance or Auto Zone would probably carry it. Also I think it's a fairly common problem with LT1's, so adding the filter should be about all the 'fix' you need. Sounds like yours is particularly bad though if it's causing your exhaust to smoke, mine is just a little residue under the inspection plate.

Talking

I just ran into this today on the board. Glad you brought it up. I found the following:

Purolator B23165

Deutsch BF412

Fram BA6592

Also check your pcv valve.

If you have that much oil coming through that hose, your PCV system is not working well or you have excessive blow-by from worn rings.

Yea I blocked off the the pcv to the T-Body and put a K&N valve cover fiter on... But now it huffs like a champ thru the filter under high revs.... is there another way to vent this crap?? Cuz I know if I hook up the pcv then it will get all clogged up again ....

SHOEBOX!!! HELP!!!! I might have a problem.. The car smokes white ish smoke out of the tail pipes on start up.. When you rev it a little it goes away for a little while.. The oil system also smokes.. When you take the oil cap off and look from the side you can see a tiny tiny bit of smoke coming out of the neck.. The oil color seems fine to me... the coolant color is like water because i havnt changed the coolant yet since the cam install and i put only water to clean it out, it looks kinda cloudy ish.. i have pics.. do you mind if i send them to you?

You should see what comes out of the valve covers on my Blazer.

Depending on air temp/humidity, every car puts a little vapor out the tail pipes on start up. When warm, if you remove the oil cap and get puffs (I know Injuneer likes to say "huffs" ) of smoke out, it is an indicator of rings not sealing.

You can send pics if you want. I can't guarantee if I can tell anything.
