throttle body question

I'm installing a 236/242 cc xe grind cam soon and I was wondering will getting a bigger throttle body make a difference.

any gains would be minimal with your mods. You would probably be better off spending the $$ on something else.

It's not worth it, you'd probably see between 0-3 hp. I've seen people go to 52mm throttle bodies and gain nothing on bolt on cars, with a cam it might pick up a few.

Port matching what? A 52mm throttle body will bolt to the manifold just fine without problem. The 58mm requires the intake holes to be enlarged.

I was at the Mechanics shop that has my engine and they were telling me they were port matching the heads and intake. They take the new gasket and trace around the inside and grind the extra metal out to increase intake size. That is what I picked up from it, seemed logical to me.

I didnt mention that I am also installing long tubes and of course 1.6 roller rockers. i dont know if it makes a difference but any feedback is appreciated.

The port matching the builder is referring to is in the intake ports, not the part where the throttle body mounts up. You don't really need a bigger throttle body unless you're forced induction or have a full built motor ie 383.....
