Throttle Body Made Me Slower, Why?
Hey guys,
I just recently installed a new Holley twin 52mm throttle body on my 93 Z and for some reason it made my car alot slower. I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me on finding out why it would do this. I have checked the vacuum hoses and none of them have leaks or atleast none that I could find. My intake elbow isnt in perfect shape and really doesnt connect as good as it could, but I didnt think that would make my car as slow as it is now. I mean it feels like I have lost a good 1/2 to a full second of my times. Any help or advice is greatly apreciated.

Did you make sure the TB is opening all the way? Are all the bolts torqued correctly? Only other thing I can think of would be the intake elbow.
Actually, I just reread your post, a 93 might have this kind of problem because it's speed density. A MAF car should be able to adjust to the bigger TB with ease, but a SD car could be reading too much incoming air. If there's nothing physically wrong with the TB/setup, you might look into having a little programming done.

Yeah I checked it and it opens all the way. I was thinking it had to either do with the elbow not connecting right or just needed to be tuned, but wasnt sure if it could be anything else. Thank you guys for the help you have given me so far, I really appreciate it.
