Throttle Body Coolant By Pass

I need some clarification (reassurance) before I start removing hoses.

I removed all the external stuff like the air cleaner, MAF, Elbo, and connectors. The Chilton shows the water nipple, on the passenger side, is curved (90 degrees) and points toward the front of the engine. What I found is the passenger side nipple is straight and points to the passenger side of the car. It has a 90 degree hose that connects to metal tube that runs the length of the engine next to the intake manifold. The clamp is very difficult to get to get to so I don't want to remove it if it is not the correct connection. The driver side connection is obvious and simple to get to. If I were to remove both of these connections what would prevent me from connecting the driver side hose directly to the metal tube that runs the length of the engine next to the intake manifold? This would remove the possibility of slpit connection from leaking. Another alternative is to purchase another hose that would connect the radiator to the metal tube that runs the length of the engine next to teh intake manifold. Thanks in advance for your responses and I will wait to hear for your input before I start removing things I am not sure of.
Ps - I will try and take some photos just in case someone needs to see what I tried to explain.

There are slightly different configurations for 93/94 models and for 95-97 models. The nipples are different, and the hoses are different. That's why 93/94 needs the 3/8" barbed connector, and 95-97 does not. You pull the hose from the drivers side nipple, discard the hose from the passenger side nipple, and connect the drivers side hose to where the old passenger side hose used to connect.

Shoebox has the diagrams for both setups on his website. But there are only two coolant nipples on the throttle body, and they are both on the lower "plate" that is screwed/gasketed to the bottom of the throttle body. It should not be hard to find these connections. Don't get hung up on the exact shape, as Chilton's does not always cover ALL cases.

that is what I needed. Again I am not surprised with the depth of knowledge, resources and willingness to share and assist other owners. Thanks.

Thanks to all of you. My TB Coolant Bypass is complete. One thing I did and did not want to do was cut the 90 degree hose to get it off. I will have to by another if I ever sell it. I also noticed the vacuum hose above the coolant outlet is starting to dry and crack and I probaly should replace it.

Now I need to replace the stock Elbow with a 1LE Elbow, add a Cold Air Intake system, and replace the LT1 knock module with a LT4 knock module. Anyone have any of these for sale?

Thanks again.

I am off to see the US Olympic Track & Field Trials this evening. hey are being held two miles away at the California State University Sacramento.
