Throttle body airfoil for LT1???

Is the TB airfoil worth the 35 bucks or is it another one of those cheap mods that doesn't work???

Yea it works...it adds like a whole 1 hp
Not but, i'd save your money for something better.
I actaully bought one for 15 shipped, so if u can find one for that price, that i say get it...but IMO its not worth the ~40 shipped new for one...but hey thats me and i know every little bit counts.
I'd rather suggest the TB bypass. Its a few dollars to do and its like 5 hp or so..

If you can get it cheap then go for it. As mentioned above the TB bypass will probably do more...and if done right is completely free.

TB bypass adds no horsepower what so ever, an air foil will do more and will work all of the time where as the TB bypass is only somewhat useful when your car is very hot.

www.ws6.com has a dyno of it and i believe it showed 3 rwhp not really to bad. if you pay around 30 bucks $10 per rear wheel hp is a pretty good ratio. If you can find one cheap might as well go for it.

No it isn't dyno proven, anyone who can say not running warm coolant into the TB makes dyno proven horse power is wrong. Maybe if the car was at 210 degrees it would help but when it is cool it frees up zero HP. This mod alone adds nothing.

And the air foil that clips into the bellows is the JET version.

I have the JET clip in elbow version...am wondering myself if it's any better than any other. air smoothing is air smoothing so I think it's fine but still curious. Now adding the Calloway Moroso CAI a couple days ago was outrageous ...talk about wake up the car. Just hearing the air sucking through is enlightening. I actually opened up the bottom of my splash guard to prevent air starving at high RPM, this bolt on next to the Borla was the best I've done so far.

I grinded one down I got for an L98 motor.

Worked pretty well.

It sticks into the rubber elbow a bit.

Whistles like a blower on some days.

lol..cool....wouldn't ya love a real whistle, Vortec or Turbo? I think once I do the stroker I will consider a Vortec..but I don't care for the turbo plumbing...not in this damn engine compartment

Well if you guys say the JET airfoil that fits in the elbow is just as good as any T/B mounted A/F, then i guess it worth the 20 bones the guy wants for it.

for $20 you might as well get it.

for $40 you can just send me a check, and ill make a website claiming your car is now faster.

btw.....for those talking about "its dyno proven"...........thats pretty much impossible, since dyno numbers will vary on each run, depending on the dyno, but ive seen consecutive runs vary anywhere up to 10hp on different cars in different temps, so unless the TB bypass made a 10+ hp difference, i would chalk it up to dyno variance, and not a gain in hp because of the bypass.

Still though why not buy an Air Foil? It is very obvious that the TB is a little restrictive.

I'll send you 40 bucks for a website, as long as it says my car runs 9's & ive got 100k under the hood fooo!

On ther real seems most people say it will add some kinda h/p, maybe 3 or 5 or 1 who knows.
20 bucks for any kind of h/p is pretty cheap i guess!
