Throttle Body

I have a LT1 with CAI, descreened MAF, 1LE Elbow, MAC Headers, no CAT, Hooker cat-back, PCM for Less custom tuning.

Do I have enough mods to benefit from a larger throttle body?

If not, would the future install of a HotCam give me enough mods to benefit from a larger throttle body?

Or does the stock TB flow plenty of air?

Re: Throttle Body

i've made over 300rwhp through a stocker.. I'm sure a lil bigger will help such as a 52mm a lil bit.. W a cam the diff. will be more apparant.. and can't hurt.. to big and it'll seem like a slug.. i tried a 58mm on mine and didn't like it at all..

Re: Throttle Body

Stock TB flows enough till your upwards of 400hp. If you have extra money and are dead set on gettin one, its not gonna hurt ya, but it wont really help you out. Plus, you need to open up the intake openings on the Intake to use a 58mm TB, the stock opening are only 52mm.

Re: Throttle Body

If I do purchase one, I would probably buy the 58 to allow for future growth. Is there a problem buying too big? I figured it would work fine I would just not be using it to its full potential. Is this correct?

Thanks

Re: Throttle Body

I agree with the already posted info, but to test this for yourself check WOT vacuum if there is more than about 1.5" then you have a restriction at or before the TB it is up too you to figure out exactly what the restriction is though.
