They look bad *** now but in a few weeks the insides will start to rust. Go the auto parts store and buy some black high temp paint. Paint the insides of them to stop the rust from forming. The tips will also rust on the outside during the winter if they put salt down on the roads. Just use Mother's polish or something similar every 2 weeks to keep them looking nice. I have my Hooker for 2 years now and you can't beat it for the money.

Dude, thanks a lot! I had never heard of that. I'll definitely pick me up some black high temp paint. I have some Meguires yellow wax would that work for the outside?

You need a mild abrassive like chrome polish, not car wax.

Mother's makes a metal polish that works well--which I think is what Joe was referring to.

Sorry, should have been more clear on that. Mother's metal polish works great on all kinds of metals. I used it on my exhaust pipe for the bike and made the stainless steel pipe look almost like factory polished stainless steel.

ah, nothing like a cheap hooker.

When I first had it put on, i was running my mac headers with an offroad pipe. It sounded stock at any rpm, as long as you were part-throttle, so I was a bit dissapointed. But once I went WOT, wow, it sounded like a second engine kicked in!

Now that I have a hiflow cat on it, and the muffler's been "broken in", I notice the sound getting a bit more mellow every day. Its getting a bit louder, and a little deeper, without any rasp at all. Its a great sound. And for $300 for the full cat-back system, you can't beat it.

Another happy member of the cheap hooker club.

Yeah, I love the sound of my Hooker Aeroflow.....the quad tips are sweet but do require polishing often to avoid rust. I also like the fact that I can unbolt and drop it off at the track in a matter of minuits if I want too. Great bang for the buck

Its a nice system, just keep the tips clean and they are fine. no rasp, not ungodly loud, low, mellow and mean.
Definatly fan of "The cheap Hooker"

I put the system on my car last weekend. Sounds great. Althought I wish it was a little louder at idle. Have you guys noticed if it gets louder over time ?

Also how long does this burning paint smell last for ?

Thanks.

anybody also know the stock vs. hooker catback piping diameters?

Nice job on the search Brian.

I dont know what the muffler alone costs, but the stock pipe is still restrictive. If you look at where the pipe goes over the real axle you will see what I mean. Summit sells the entire system for less $300 shipped.
