Lightbulb Thoughts on my Hooker Cat-back

Well I just got it installed yesterday. Just thought maybe people looking into exhaust my appreciate my review of the Hooker, maybe it will help someone

Well...when I first got to David's Auto and started her up for the first time my initial reaction was "sweet!" After stepping back and letting David rev it up a little for me I was very impressed. One thing I noticed right away is it's really not much louder at idle then stock..that can be good or bad. But the real test, what it sounds like while being driven. That's where I would say amazing. It has the best sound around 2100 to 2700 or so...that to me is when it sounds the best. It actually quiets down a little up near redline. Ofcourse you don't get the TRUE sound until it's cooled down and been reheating a couple times, but the way I have been running around I think it's about set. It actually got louder the more it was driven. I went with Hooker b/c I heard it wasn't raspy at all but a nice deep clean sound. And that's exactlly what it is I'm honestly not biased just b/c I have it, it's truly awesome if you ask me. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the Hooker Cat-back. If you want the loudest...well go elsewhere, but if you want something that is loud enough and sounds amazing and is rather cheap (280 shipped) you've found it!

EDIT: the quad tips look bad ***!!! Bigger then stock, and chrome, just SCHWEEEET

Welcome to the Hooker Club! I've had mine for over a year and I love it!

As far as tips, I decided to sell the tips that came with the exhaust and bought Hooker Classic Dual Euro Tips. They have the slash cut which I think looks great.

You can see pics on my website. I also have a dyno video in which you can hear what the exhaust sounds like.

I have a Hooker catback on my 88 (3"), and like you said, it's not too much louder than stock, but when I installed an off road pipe and headers, it got a lot louder and soooo much meaner. I couldn't believe the difference. I don't think it would be much different on a 4th gen, and when it comes time for my 93, that's the first thing I'm planning on.

yes, it does. theres a flange you slide down the main pipe and it just bolts up to your cat.
