Those of you who have gone from mildly blown to n/a
I am currently in the process of redoing my top end and adding a cam and a I am seriously considering selling the blower and getting the heads done with the money I get from the blower. The powerdyne is really limited anyway so I'm thinking I could get just as much out of a nice set of ported lt1 heads and a cam to match. Looking for 400+hp. Is this possible? I know there are guys out there getting 390-410 on 6# powerdynes but Im sure they are tweaked out. I would like to try to make the same kind of power without the fear that forced induction brings with broken ringlands and rebuilds and that stuff. Thanks for your opinions.
I guess what I really want to know are opinions on whether or not you were satisfied with the change. Powerwise, driveability, economy, stuff like that. I really like the feel of boost kicking in but hate the uneasiness of the ticking timebomb that a blower can be. I just don't want to take a step in the wrong direction. So that being said, those of you who are now n/a but were previously blown are you happy with your decision to go n/a or if you had it to do all over again would you stay blown. A forged bottom end is not in my budget and with 80k on the clock I can't help but think heads and a cam would be easier on the car than a tweaked out 6psi blower. I just don't want to lose any power.
I can not even explain how much happier I was to go back to a N/A setup
Never worring about broken parts or blown hoses. Never pulling all that plumbing to do simple things like change alternater.
It is up to you think it over carefully
