Those of you with obdII look here

how much harder is it to get the performance out of an obdII motor over the obdI? i have the chance to get a motor with tranny for dirt cheap but it is out of a 97 and i have a 95. also, who has swapped to obdI and how much of a pain is that and what all has to be changed?

There is no difference in the basic mechanics of the engine. There are a few extra sensors, but you could still use your OBD-I pcm with the later engine. The extra sensors would just be ignored and/or you could use the current configuration off the car you now have.
