Right under the 6 on the tach is the low coolant lamp.

When you don't have your printed owner's manual...

The low coolant sensor goes bad after a while on these cars. Mine is currently in this state... its on all the time even though my coolant is fine. Ive read its an expensive sensor to fix so i dont really plan on fixing it.

>just keeping an eye on your coolant lever is a pain... just get the sensor.

ive heard its about $90 and a total PITA to do (have to completely drain the system). my car is a weekend toy. I have my eye on the temp gauge all the time anyway because it varies so much. (i hit the fans when it starts warming up). I even have an additional coolant gauge for the passenger cylinder bank that im going to wire up as soon as i install an electric water pump. Ive not had any problems with my car getting to hot ever either.

Aw, c'mon...the sensor is less than $30 (wholesale) and you don't have to drain the whole system-just get the coolant level below the sensor.

Local Chevy dealer has it for like 35 bucks. Unplug and tape it for now or forever.
