Those who have upgraded to LS1 Alum. Driveshaft...

Did you all upgrade/replace the transmission slipyoke? I was using the stock Trans. Slipyoke that came with my LS1 alum. driveshaft and the metal balancer on it cracked (i'm guessing from my SPEC Stage 3 6-puck ceramic clutch?). This caused a NASTY drivetrain vibration. I then ordered a stock LT1 steel driveshaft to take the balancer off of it ($20 shipped from speedautomotive.com) and noticed that the slipyoke shaft on the steel DS is actually somewhat longer than the trans. slipyoke shaft on the LS1 - I'm guessing this provides added strength. If anyone else has an experience with this, let me know!

thanks!

everything is all figured out - i went ahead with the trans. slipyoke replacement. Us T56 people with clutch upgrades might need the stronger slipyoke though only because of the strain put on the drivetrain.
