those who have installed AS&M headers

i've got the headers up in there and every bolt is in but one! on the passenger side, the second bolt from the front of the car. How is it even physically possible to get that bolt in the hole? it's like a little 130 pound dude trying to hump a 400 pound woman....it's just not possible! the primary is in the way of the bolt head, causing interference. how did you guys do it? also, what sort of tools did you rig up to make tightening of the other bolts easier? if you can help, thanks so much, i can't wait to get this beast back on the road!
thanks again,
Michael

I'm not sure of that one bolt, but I ground down the outer edge of my closed end wrench so that the closed end of the wrench still fits between the bolt and the primary. Works awesome, and it still has enough strength to torque down the bolts good.

i used the outside 2 bolts to hold the header loosely in place and then put all of them in by hand.

Sounds that way. It's not that bad. Just so you know, you are supposed to tighten the bolts in a spiral pattern, increasing TQ each time you go around. Example: Tighten the #6 bolt a little, then the #4, then the front #8, then the rear #2, then the back #8, then the front #2.

You can get it in without loosening everything up. You just need a stubby wrench, or a short one in other terms.

are you using header bolts or the stock manifold bolts?

i would assume that you are using header bolts like arp ones. i had no problem putting the open end of a 3/8 wrench on them.

you might want to grind one down to get more rotation out of them.

yeah, i'm using header bolts. i took the header back out and still could not get a header bolt in there so we found a shorter header bolt and used it instead. i don't know if it was not fabricated correctly or what but really it was physically not possible to use a regular bolt. now i will have to be careful to not over-tighten that bolt and strip a thread in the head!
