Those using Hawk Pads

Did you notice a higher squeal from the rear? I just install them and I notice a high pitch squeal from the rear. Is that normal? The squeal was not there before the pads.

I have them on my LS1 and they are fine. Other than they dust alot. No squeal here and I have had them for about 8 months.

I've used them for the last year and didn't have any problems with them squeeling. Did you use new rotors or have your rotors cut when you installed them? If not they may not seat right with glazed or worn rotors.

I have the same damn squeal from the rear end but only when i turn corners though. No idea what it is though. I did new rotors and everything when i did mine. It only squeals when i turn other than that they are fine.

I had them with PowerSlot rotors on my old z28. Except the fact that they dusted like a ****, they never made a noise.

When I was running stock brakes, I had hawk blues (is that what you guys are running?) - mine whine and squeel like a pig when they are not up to tempature but I notice it more in the front.. I am also running a adj prop. valve though. I wouldn't worry about it... If its the blue pad they need to be up to temp before they work good - thats what they are disinged for. Also a performance pad is going to dust and squeel, its the nature of the beast.

Did you use disk brake quiet on them when you installed the pads? Did you grease your calipers when you put them back in? My back ones squeeled for a bit then me and my friend took them off and there's like this bolt that they ride on and it was somewhat rusted and didnt have any grease on it and that was what was doing it. Just a thought
