Those with LE heads/cam come inside
I'm just wondering who is putting down what numbers with what combination. Please only post if you have LE heads/cam(Other Joe O. cams is acceptable) Info I'd like about the car...
Heads--LE1 heads but with rev valves
Cam-Joe O. custom grind (220/226) for the sleeper effect
Tranny--stock auto with 3000 stall(3600 now and flp tranny but no new times)
Headers/catback--Jet hot long tubes with stock catback and e-cutout
Gears--3.73's
Suspension--lca's/panhard rod/sfc's/no front sway
Tires--et streets
stock bottem end/383/396/etc--stock bottem end
Dyno'd 384rwhp/363rwtq with a base tune. Best time so far is in sig.

Re: Those with LE heads/cam come inside
Didnt get to dyno my moderate LE heads.. 255cfm intake at .550 and 2.02/1.60 SI valves. XE230/236 112lsa. All i know is it was faster than stock 2003 cobras.
Now its got 282cfm 205cfm on teh exhaust.. same cam not custom grind
.. 355 light weight forged bottom end.

Re: Those with LE heads/cam come inside
Gawd that is nice, stock bottom end with some heads and cam and you can run 11's. Tell me what other small things I need with these LT1 motors. I know everything that you are supposed to change on a Ford 302 but these LT1 motors are new territory to me. Hell I hear that I don't even have to change the throttle body or intake and I can hit low 12's or even high 11's. Let me know what all went into the swap and what you recommend for when I get my heads and cam. I and trying hard to decide between an Ai combo or LE. I have heard a lot of great things about both.

Re: Those with LE heads/cam come inside
FWIW, I'm not running yet, but here's the setup:
Joe Prince heads
Sizably larger Joe O cam
Stock M29 T-56 w/Street Twin
ASM Headers, Random Tech Cat and Cat-Back
3.23's
No suspension mods
Nitto 275/40 DR's.
Still working a fueling bug, but looking to be well into the 400's once tuned given the power the old combo (exact same with exception to the cam) made with the 224/230.
Hopefully no more than another month max.

Re: Those with LE heads/cam come inside
i have the le1 heads with joe o's 226/234 cam, 11.7 is VERY impressive and gives me good hopes w/ my setup. i'm hoping for like 12.3 - 12.6 with my car.
i'm installing slp cold air and a bbk 58mm throttle body this thursday and going to the track next tuesday ( on street tires
) will post times,
TQdrivenws6: very interested to hear your numbers.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LE1 cam pulls from 2000 to 6300 RPM and should make 370-390 RWHP with matching heads, 30 lb injectors, 52 TB, 1 3/4 LTs, No cats, good tuning, etc. The heads are ported using stock valves, performance valve job, back cut valves, CM 612 springs, retainers and locks, milling, cleaning and assembly. These heads flow about 255/180 with a 195 cc intake port and stock LT1's flow about 215/150 with a 170 cc intake port.
Heads and cam are $1100 (plus shipping) and will pass emissions with good tuning. This has the RPM range of the Hot Cam or CC 305 cam but makes more HP and TQ through out the entire RPM range. This will work
with any gear and converter but the track times will be better with a stall and some gear.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LE2 cam pulls from 2200 to 6500 RPM and should make 400-420 RWHP with matching heads, 30-36 lb injectors, 52-58 mm TB, 1 3/4 LT's, no cats, GOOD tuning, etc. The heads are ported and machined for larger Ferrea 2.00/1.56 valves, Comp 987 dbl springs, TITANIUM 10 degree retainers, locks, locators, milling, cleaning and assembly. These will flow about 270/190 with a 205 cc intake port.
Heads and cam are $1600 (plus shipping) and will need GOOD tuning. This has the RPM range of the CC 306 cam but will make more HP and TQ at peak and across the board. The REAL difference will be the LE2 cam will make TQ in the 2500 RPM range and the cc 306 doesn't start until way past this. It will make more HP than the cc 306 at ALL RPM's.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LE3 cam pulls from 2600 to 6800 RPM in a 350 (2300 to 6500 RPM in a 383) and should make 410 to 430 RWHP with matching heads, 36-42 lb injectors, 58 TB or mono blade, GOOD tuning, etc, etc, etc. These are the same heads from above but with Comp 977 springs instead of the 987's. These are stronger and will also need Comp R lifters to handle the spring pressure.
Heads and cam are $1700 (plus shipping) and will need GOOD tuning. This cam is similar to the GM 847 cam but makes about 10 more HP at peak and starts making HP sooner. Makes more HP and TQ across the board. Needs gear and converter to work well in a 350. Pretty much a racing cam for the 350 or a good street cam that will act like the LE2 in a 383.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone has a different opinion about what is streetable and what a safe RPM limit is for their engine.
If you are looking for just cylinder heads and no cam, the heads are priced at . . . . .
$750 for the LE1 heads only
$1250 for the LE2 heads only
$1300 for the LE3 heads only

stock bottem end/383/396/etc--forged 383
I would have results by now, but something went wrong when it was all installed. The best guess now is that the installer had the timing set misadjusted because we can see where there was contact with the valves and pistons on the LE1 cam. The new engine will be back from the builder early next week, then in the car and driveable by the end of the week hopefully.
