thinking of some new mods

I will get about $400 for christmas and another $100 for my bday in jan. What could I do to get the most HP gains out of my 94 z28 m6? I dont like dealing with suspension all that much. Also its my DD. I currently have a moroso CAI and flowmaster catback exhaust. any ideas?

If you shop around and find them used, 500 bucks will be enough to get you a set of headers and y-pipe and still have some money to spare. Some other ideas would be roller rockers and springs, electric water pump, or a mail order tune. Five hundred is also enough to get a basic nitrous kit as well.

Headers and y-pipe. Find some nice used ones, and save the rest for some 1.6 roller rockers or something

NOS. unless you dont have the fueling to back it up.

a used supercharger head unit...and some custom piping from JC whitney(this is what i'm going to be doing soon hopefully)

brand new pace setter mids with y-pipe and magnaflow exhaust setup...you could buy a new cat as well if you can weld...or spend a few more bucks to have it welded together.

stock ported heads

cam and lifter kit with some new rockers

I have a quick question then for you, when I was originally on the hunt for my 4th gen a couple years back, I looked at a 95 Firebird Formula... the salemen said it had 2.73 gears and no posi rearend. Do you think he just doesn't have his facts straight like many of them, or could it be possible that some came out of the factory without the posi rearend?

The salesman was confused, or someone swapped in a V6 rear. Limited slip differential was STANDARD equipment on ALL V8 4th Gen F-Bodys.

"I dont like dealing with suspension all that much"

hp is a great thing to brag about...but if you can't transfer it to the ground...

get use to losing races

basic susp upgrades make a world of difference

It's more than possible that the posi was wore out and when he was doing burnouts in the parking lot he noticed only one tire smoking. LOL

You could see 30rwhp from that stuff. You might see an increase in mileage or a 1-2 mile decrease. Nothing drastic as long as you can keep your foot off the floor.
