Well the Borla sounds excellent as you all know, but after a cam and offroad pipe it's obnoxious and raspy. I can't imagine how much worse it would be with longtube headers!

Now I'd like some opinions on what exhaust I should replace it with? Some sound clips of cammed cars and offroad pipes would be nice.

When it runs with the Borla, the majority of the sound comes from the passenger pipes and the smoke comes out of the driver side pipes. It seems like all the pressure is focused on the passenger side pipes. Would the interchangable plates make ANY difference? It's running without one right now, but not too certain that putting a smaller plate would eliminate the raspiness, infact it'll probly be worse! Any ideas?

From: looking for a flow bench so Brook and I can race
i'm going from long tubes --> 3'' Y pipe ---> hooker catback
to 2.5'' either true duals
or
to a stock catback with an electric cut out at the y pipe/catback
junction

they'll never hear it coming

the plates make a big difference man. well at least on my car they do. you might wanna try changing the smallest or the second to smallest in before you use money and buy a different exhaust.

Sleeper....nice.

I want something that's a little exotic without buying a lambo. I'd like to hear my engine again! Also I'd like to run true duals with my longtubes that will exit throught side pipes, but after my 2" drop I'll be lucky to get these longtube headers to stay in shape!

You could buy my custom made inconel exhaust with a spintech design inconel muffler, its cool after its heat soaked, the metal turns blue, green, gold, and some reds, weighs at abotu 26lbs from the cat and back.

I'll sell it to you for $2500 shipped.

My stainless borla IS gold and weighs about that much. I work with a talented exhaust guy, but we don't have a mandrel bender. And I don't care for aluminized piping we use either. What do you guys think?

I gaurantee you, no stainless steel catback weighs under 40lbs, unless its just a straight pipe.

I have been checking out the Mufflex 3.5" and 4" systems but I can not find anyone who is running one of them to get feedback. Anyone?
btw, I think their website is www.mufflex-performance.com

I've always loved the corsa, if I had 700 to spend on an exhaust I would, cause it looks good and I think it's one of the best sounding exhausts too

I would change your plates. My car is annoying with the open plate but with a smaller one it is much smoother and pleasant. The fully blocked off one sounds really smooth but it isn't loud enough for me. I run a medium sized hole, plate. on my SLP shorties and off road pipe. I had to make plates since i bought my borla used and it didn't come with any.
