thinking of going delteq

opti is fairly new...btu im thinking of going delteq for less troubles in the future
im getting headers....and am wondering if the plug wires wont be much of a problem...are they run in the same way as teh factory....?
i have Taylor OVCs but might not use them

how much of a good decision is this ?

While those type of DIS systems are nice, they still use the stock opti. Someone needs to make an opti replacment. It depneds on how you run the wires. They offer an over the valve cover bracket or behind the radiator bracket. I guessing that the OVC bracket would make it easier to run wires with headers.

Ill throw in some experienced opinions:

I have the radiator mounted setup. I routed my wires just fine with my old uncoated MACs. You cannot use LT1 wires with this setup becuase the coilpacks dont have the same connectors that the opti does.

The opti sensor also rarely goes out. A faulty opti will usually fry the cap and rotor.

Highly recomended.

I'll throw in some expirenced observations.
While the sensor rarely fails, blinding of the optical disc ( usally from rust) is quite frequent. The high res slot are very small so it doesnt take much to make this happen like failed water pump seals or oil seals. Thats why opti's will run like $h!t after peole get them wet. You can get an HEI distributor wet and it wont have any problems becauce the sensor is magnetic. The only thing that fails frequently on those are modules and coils.

He basicly means thay you use normal spark plug wires because the coilpacks have the same terminals as normal distributers. You can run your wires any way you please, whether it be OVC or under the headers.
