There is so much information and discussion in the archives here - did you try the search feature?

Re: Thinking of adding A STS rear TURBO

my opinion for forced induction on these engines is go big or go home. i would only put turbos on after i built up the bottom end. ive just never felt it was worth all the time and effort if you arent going to run forged components and low compression, look into nitrous maybe, but hey its your engine

EDIT: i just noticed that you seem to enjoy the looks aspect in modding more than alot of us so it dawned on me maybe you want the novelty of a turbo as well as the performance. in that case, i think the rear turbo is probably one of the best choices. real simple installation and you get that sound, the bragging rights of a turbo v8, and the power.

You can run stock tb, but you need 42# injectors and a good tune.

Just have to watch the compression ratio.

Tbyrne.com has a cheaper starting price, and is also having a sale. Tbyrne is also a supporting sponsor.

I was on STS's web site, the turbo sounds crappy. Anyone know if these are better than a regular mounted turbo.

Wouldn't a twin 52mm TB help him to flow better? They're about $150 on Ebay for a bored and remanned one, and mine works even better than my stock, though I think my throttle shaft was a slight bit worn. Seems like it would help maximize the turbo as our intakes are set up to take a 52mm with no porting or different gasket.

They sound nice in person. A regular mounted turbo will have more potential in the end than an STS, but it can make 700rwhp reliably with the the upgrade top the t70 @ 15psi and a motor that will handle the boost.

A bigger one will help some, I just meant it wasnt a must have. Injecotrs and tuning are the must haves!

Chek the following link out. They put an STS on a big cubed LS1 and made 755rwhp/815rwtq.

You need to search in the forced induction section, not the LT1 tech section. I guarantee your question has been answered in that forum on more than one occasion. If you cant find the info in there then you're doing something wrong
