Re: thinking about titanium rods

Your wife will let you do this and your wife will let you do that...

Man, I just want to shoot you down like a dog.

Listen to what these guys are saying unless you have a ton of money to throw away. In that case, get your wife's permission to build it your way and let us know how it turns out.

Did you even read the replies in this post? In one it is stated that no LT anything will spin to 8k+ rpm, and then shortly there after is a post from Injuneer that there is a 1000+ hp LT1 spinning over 8k. Also, I stated in my last response that the billet, or forged route is the route I would most likely take, and that I posted this to see what others, possibly some with some experience with titanium rods, would reply back with. It is an idea, and everyone has their opinion.

As far as the comment about my wife, and shooting me down.....well, you must not be married! Or you just dont give a #$^& about your wifes opinion, or what is best for the life the TWO of you are making. I am proud my wife says I can spend alot of money on my car at this time, with how hard times are getting nowadays, and just like I dont want to "waste" a ton of it on worthless parts, I also dont want to wish I had done it this way or that way after I do spend what I spend. I am researching, doing my homework, not being an idoit and just buying parts that are expensive. I could just buy an Eagle complete rotating assembly, take it to a machine shop, have it put together, buy a supercharger, bolt it on, have the computer re-programmed, and just drive it. I am sure that would be fine, and alot of other people have done it. But, I want more than that, so I got an idea, and if you actually read these responses, you will see that I ask, because I dont know! And when I get a response that makes me think of another question, or I dont fully understand the answer I was given, I ask more questions!

When I get a response from someone like Rich, or Injuneer, or even shoebox, I take what they say pretty serious. Their answers tell me not only their opinion, but WHY they believe what they do. Someone saying that I cannot afford high dollar parts because I cannot, or do not want, to afford an expensive car is just stupid! And someone telling me that I should be shot down like a dog because I VALUE my wifes opinion is just as ignorant and stupid.
