Thinking About A Cam......

I am thinking about wanting to put a hotcam kit in my car. I would not put this in myself. What would be all the parts needed to put a hotcam in? ALso, whats a good estimate for having someone else put a cam in? Woudl timing and everything need to be changed? THanks. Would you do it with stock exhaust manifolds? I am planning on headers later on.....

i just bought the a competition cams 218/224 cam. i've got the motor tore down right now awaiting the cam. i wasn't gonna mess with headers for another month or so but when i seen how much easier it's gonna be to access the exhaust manifolds with the engine tore down i dug the extra $ and ordered the headers too so i can do it all at once. it is recommended to replace the timing set. i got a nice set for alittle over $100. if you want one i can give you the guy's number to order you one.

I just put a new cam in my car. Total for parts and labor was about $1800, and that's with tuning. I also bought a $375 cam too, vs the normal cost of a cam which is in the high $200 range.
