think my car is running bad, but i beat a sc cobra
I just dont think my car is running just right, it doesnt feel as fast as when i first got the car. But it might be my imagination. My car wont even bark 2nd gear. I do have a badass mcleod clutch, that might be the reason it doesnt bark.
But anyways i raced a 96 cobra with a brand new cobra rebuilt motor. Forged internals and he said he ported either the intake or the exhaust ports, but not both. I dont know what kind of exhaust he had but i sounded pretty mean. Also the big thing was that he had a paxston supercharger. He said he was pushing 13lbs.
First race wasnt really a race, only one gear and it was close. But he was pulling me, with no juice. 2nd run i sprayed and we both went at the same time from top of 1st till about first of 4th i had him by about 1 car behind me. Last run i let him go first and then i went and we only went from 1st to bottom of 3rd and i was sucking him up very slowly, but we ran out of room.

block bored to 355 with forged pistons
ported lt4 intake, and stock heads
lt4 hotcam kit
hooker headers
3.5" x-pipe

ALso, i forgot to add that the guy in the mustang said he raced a corvette with a 125 shot and beat him pretty bad. He said it was a new vette too.
also his motor only had like 1000 miles on it.
And another thing,
I raced a 99-03 gt with out my juice and he was at my back wheels from about top of 2nd to top of 4th. I dont know what he had, i know he had exhaust but i dont know what else. Hopefully alot, but probably a stock gt with exhaust.

Did it always idle that low ? Thats weird, could be the gauge tho, the RPM gauges are **** on these cars ... Does it sound the same at idle as it usaually did ? ... Take it to the track and see how you do with it there, then you'll know if your faster/slower then you should be ...
I know for a fact it is idling low, it sounds alot different than it did when i first got the car. Also i did take it to the track and i car a 9.5 in the 1/8 at 84mph, WITH JUICE!!!!!!!, but i had street tires and really couldnt hook up at all.

As for lacking power ...
1- Faulty Distributor Cap / Wires / Plugs ... N2O Eats plugs occasionally
2- Dirty Air Filter
3- Spark Timing Controll system aint working rite ...
4- Brakes sticking ? This would be too obvious tho i guess ...
5- Clutch is slipping
6- Fuel Filter is clogged ? Impurities in ur gas ( Water ? )
7- EGR took a **** ...
8- Bad gas ? hehe sounds like a personal issue ...
9- Vacuum leak at Plenum / Intake Manifold
As for idling like anus ...
1- The Opti , again lol ...
2- Dirty Injectors
3- Low Fuel Pressure , should be between 41-47 psi with the key on , engine off , 3 to 10 PSI lower with the engine running ...
4- Vacuum Leak at manifold / plenum , or vacuum lines
5- Emissions system took a dive off the deep end ...
Dont rule out the simple stuff ... Plugs could definatly be it since your on juice , ive heard of alot of ppl who spray having to replace plugs alot more frequently ...
