Are these O2 readings wacky? .14-.91

I had my car scanned since its hesitating/missing/bogging/backfiring and everything u can imagine, except its not throwing any codes.

Well i scanned my O2s and they are flucuating from .14-.91.. He told me that was normal because its supposed to go rich-lean-rich-lean... but those readings are pretty far apart no?

Are my 02s dying?

a fully functional O2 sensor will fluctuate from .000-.999 mV... a sensor that is dying will only go from say .200-.500 mV. the faster the numbers fluctate from 0-999 the better b/c thats more information/millisec the computer can use to adjust the fuel to maintain closed loop AFR.

Hey turbo_z. I had a problem with my o2s dieing on me . They would only run from 200mv to 490 mv at idle and of course the car wasnt runing as best as it could. I was just wondering what could cause them to go bad like that? Would the car running rich kill them?

My newo2s I have now are starting to not scan from 100-900mv anymore. MOre like 190-550 mv although the car is running fine. MY BLMs are 108/109, but you can tell by the sterms that they are not going to drop any more (BTW those blms are at ilde)
But severaly weeks ago a scan showed my blms to be in the 112/113 range. All I have is 1.6 rr , gtp stage1 heads,, jet hot lts, mufflxex y, 160 stat. If my blms where being held at a steady 110 a few weeks ago, which means that the a/f ratio is in heck at 14.1 then how come the blms are lower now and my o2s are not scanning as much? Is a 110 blm still a little rich and eventually ills the o2s from too much fuel????

Thanks for any help

Jason

im not sure... i have the same problem too the pass side sensors dont last very long in my car for some odd reason. i even replaced it with a brand new one and that sensor only fluctuates from 200-500 so im sending it back... maybe some sensors are just destined to die quick.

sounds like you need some computer work.. maybe raise the injector constants? what are the blms during part throttle?

my part throttle blms are low too, but not as low, I think they are in the 115 range????

Does sound like I need computer work. I thought I had understood that as long as your blms are not trying to go lower then 108 then, that is your pcm keeping your af ratio at 14.1 or whatever it should be. But with my o2s getting worse, its like it still is runing rich and killing them.

thanks for the reply
