which of these to cams should i go with

well here are the cams that i have decided to use but i need to know if the 240 2044 on a 110 is to big. and the other is the 847 on a 110.

the car will have port&polished heads, lt headers. to name the main thngs.

204 244 on a 110

or the 847 on a 110 the reason i dont have a spec sheet to show is becuase its not a cataloged cam

What do you want to do with the car? Street, street/strip, race only? What does the car weigh? Is this on a stock bottom end?

You need a lot of specifics about what you want before people can provide decent answers.

Just remember that bigger is not always better, especially in cams.

Those cams are a little hot for the street. If you don't drive the car every day (Saturday night special/strip car) then go for it. You're going to need stall in the 3500-3800 range if your car is an auto. If it's a daily, stick with something in the 220-230 duration range. I think Brad here will probably praise the 230/236 cam for street manners. Just don't pick your cam cause it's at the bottom of the sheet. As stated earlier, bigger isn't always better.

it is stock bottom end but i would like to do a 383 in the spring. it will be a weekend warrior more or less after this. i know some people are running the 236 242 ex grinds on a stock bottom end.

yes i dont want to go to big but just big enough plus some

i sure am leaning toward to 244 244 as we speak.

i think you've been trying to decide on a cam for the last two years or something. j/k it is a tough decision but i think you'll make hella power with either of them. good luck.

Sup Vince.... so you gonna go with the 383 this summer huh bud??? AWWWRIIIGHT!!! You say you don't wanna go huge??? They are some pretty good sized cams there my friend. I'd go with the 847 if I were you.......or ...wait..... maybe... nah. Let us know what you decide. I'd like to know how it comes out.

well thats how i feel, but i just wan to go big enough to make good power and enough cam that i dont have to use another for the 383 in the spring. becuase i know that the 383 will tame the cam alittle. but im kind of concerned about how much i higher i would really have to spinn the 240 244 up to. it seems to me that every time i see a person dyno a car with a particular cam it will dyno a higher peak the the cam i supose to. i know that other mods play a part in its peak power.

thanks for all the opinions. keep them coming.

is this 240/244 a comp grind or a custom grind. where are the complete specs on it. i'm thinking of switching to a bigger cam pretty soon and i'm just curious about the details.
