Thermostat

If my car usually runs at 180*, is it a 160 or 180 thermostat in there?

It uses a 180 degree stat as stock.

Another thought on top of yours, if his car has a fan switch or PCM tuning, even with a 180 degree stat, he can still run dead on right around those temps. Mine does with a stock stat and PCM tuning.

Yes that´s what i´ve heard some people say, and I am going to get a PCM tune and thinking about getting a 160 thermo. but I don´t know what´s in it right now.
And I can tell you, I don´t have a fan switch and no tune yet. So it´s possible that I have a 160 thermo. now? If I put it out and just look at it, can I see from there if it´s a 160 or 180? Is it marked anywhere?

There will be a marking somewhere on the thermostat. The thermostat begins to open at it's rated temperature. 15°-20° warmer than the rated temp is common for a running temp (unless ambient temp is pretty cold).
