Question Thermostat

My car is 95 z28 and was running hot, so my mechanic changed the fan belt, coolant and the pcm sensor, but he didn't want to put in a new thermostat. He told me it would be better without it and the car would run cooler. Will that affect my car in anyway, i know it's gonna take longer to warm up, but is there anything else that could happen?

u mean he has the old thermo in there, or there is NO thermo in there???? if there is no thermo, he's an idiot cuz the coolant will go too fast thru the system and not have enough time to cool down. I'd recomend getting a 160 degree thermo for lt1 engines, reverse cool design.

Ditto, you're gonna want something in there because it is possible to run too cool and from what i've been reading on here 180* stat is what you'll need...also you're car doesn't have a fan belt it's electrically operated fans, the only fan is a serpantine fan.

the belt is for ps, ac. alt. Get a 160* hypertech from summit, jegs or thunder racing.
