Is there a way to test the opti when its not on the car?
Is there a way to test the opti when its not on the car?
Soon i will have all the parts for my engine and be able to put it back together, but i dont want to put the opti back on if its gona go out soon.
Im pretty sure it worked fine but would like to know if i should just go ahead and buy one or not.
So is there a quick test or something to see if my old one is good?
Thanks
James

By connecting the opti to its harness and rotating it by hand, the injectors should be ticking. Also when connected to the coil should give spark at coil/plugs.

You can also bench-test it with a regulated 5 volt power supply while looking at the output of the low-res and high-res pulses with an oscilloscope -- also, rotating it by hand.
