Is there a way to test the evaporator core itself?

I think I have a leaking evap core, is there a way to test it without having to pull the entire dash apart?

Thanks

You can kill 2 birds with one stone IF YOUR AC HAS LOST IT'S CHARGE. Evacuate the system just as you would when preparing to recharge it. If it won't hold vacuum, it's easy to find the problem at that point.

Right, well i know there is a leak, if all the freon leaks out I'm sure there is a leak. This is on my 1999 cherokee, but same pricipal, its takes about a month for a full charge to depleat, I would like to be alittle more sure then i think its the core, its about a 9 hour job to do it for a $99 part, just alot of work to still have a problem. I was just looking for a way to check it before i assume thats what it is.

Thanks
Patrick
