Question Is there a way to tell what rear gear ratio you have?

Just as the subject says. Of course without counting the teeth or whatever. Is there a way to tell with what speed you are going, in what gear, at what RPMs??? it's an M6...

Check your RPO codes (in the glove box)...unless you think they have been changed

GU2 Axle, Rear 2.73 Ratio
GU4 Axle, Rear 3.08 Ratio
GU5 Axle, Rear 3.23 Ratio
GU6 Axle, Rear 3.42 Ratio

jack up car put in nuetral grab wheel turn 1 revolution, see how many times the drive shaft spins so for a 3.42 it should spin about 3 1/2 turns per tire revolution just to give ya a rough idea

Use the gear calculator shoebox linked you to. Cruise at a certain speed down a road in a certain gear and see what RPM you are turning. Compare rpms with that chart and youll get an answer. I found I had 4.10s in mine.

This just dawned on me... arent our tachs off a few hundred rpms? In that case my ratio might be different. Or is the few hundred off thing just under acceleration?
