is there a termporary fix for burned plug wire?
is there a termporary fix for burned plug wire?
car started sputtering all of a sudden so i took her home, jacked it up to inspect plugs, and i found my wire for #6 has some damage to it. i dont have spares just lieing around, is there any temporary fix or wrap to make the car drivable until the new wires get here?
Re: is there a termporary fix for burned plug wire?
Cut the wire in two. cut out the burned part. Strip back the insulation on each side a little. Then crimp them together with that electrical connector autozone or any electrical supply store has. I forget whats its called. Its round, long and hollow with metal inside used to crimp wires together.

Just buy the ACCEL D.I.Y. wire kit for 30 bucks... and make a new wire... you'll have to use the boots off the old one... I reccomend that becasue if you burn another wire... you'll still have spare wires for a new one... that's what I did...

Wiring tape will work perfectly. I burned a plug wire almost in half after the install of my long tubes, i put the tape on there just to get home and it ran like a champ again, couldnt even tell it was burnt up.

thanks guys, i was gonna try the tape, but the local autozone had a set for $39, so i just bought the whole thing and that way ill have spares in the future.
