Is there a safe way to pressure wash the engine bay

I have heard people say that you can cover the opti and all electrical wires that dont have wire conduit on them, also heard to do it while the vehicle is running, does anyone do it???? can it be safely done???

Dude, I did it on my car and ended up spending $500 for a new opti and water pump. BE CAREFUL. My engine is clean as shiat now but at a cost....Good Luck!

I guess it depends on how water tight your opti is. Some people can't even drive through a puddle or auto car wash.

I personally would not recommend a power washer. I have used some Simple Green and strategic spraying from a hose.

I think Shoebox suggestion is the only way to go. I do not use water though only simple green. Water only breaks down opti's not grease.

Another option is CD-2 Engine detailing kit. Contains engine cleaner and detailer sprays. Does not require any power washing. Can be obtained from www.waxdepot.com, $16.59 including shipping. Hope this helps.
