Is there a LT header that will clear a regular Spohn torque arm crossmember?

Hey guys, I want to run a set of LT's but I am lowered and don't want to drag. I have a Spohn torque arm that mounts to the supplied crossmember instead of the tranny and it is low. I drag it on occasion and I don't want to have to buy a crossmember made for LT's because it will have a hump in it for them and then I will drag more often, plus I will probably drag my headers as well.

Does anyone make a LT header/y-pipe combo that hugs the floor (without being prone to hitting it) enough to work with my torque arm mount that I have now? If so, I think they will be high enough not to drag too often, plus I won't loose any more clearance from the crossmember.

I think I am going to have to run the RKSport mids sitting in my garage, but this is a last plea for info. I can sell my RK's if I can get a good LT to fit like I want.....

Any advice????

I have the Pacesetter LTs and Y-pipe with the regular Spohn crossmember (no dip) and Eibach Pro springs. The y is only 1/8" above the crossmember, but has at least 1/2 above it. I'm going to have the y-pipe modified with a better merge and a 3 1/2" outlet. If it's to close I'll notch the crossmember and weld a 1/8" piece of steel to the bottom for strenght.
If I were you, I'd have a custom y made with a nice merge to begin with. Just my opinion, good luck.

Depends what diameter your Y-pipe is. I had a Mufflex build a setup with 2-3" pipes into a 4" intermediate pipe, and we had to hammer the floor a bit to use the flat Spohn cross-member. But that was back when the torque arm had the slider and the cross-member was made of rectangular tubing. 4" IM + 3.8" DS = tight fit.

I do have the rectagular crossmember, and newer style TA. Going by Freds picture, you can see that a 3 1/2" merge into the I pipe can be done without to much hassle.

Wonderful!!!!

Thanks guys, that is exactly what I wanted to see. Injuneer, did Mufflex build your headers too? If not what brand are you using in that pic?

My crossmember is the newer style and it is pretty flat, but I don't think there is any more clearance between it and the car. It just doesn't come as close to the ground as the one in the pic.
