Is there a cam in this thing?
I just bought my car a few months ago and the damn thing pulls like a jet. A few friends that are really into cars say that it sound like a cam is in it. and also i havnt loss a race to any thing yet, including the 2 Camaro ss's the T\A and more than a couple Stangs.
So is ther anyway to check if it had a cam put in it?

You definately have a cam in it... the engine wouldn't run without one
The first way to tell if it is non-stock is to listen for the "lope".
You can also check the vacuum when it is running... someone will know how much stock is and the specifics of how to do this.

Take it to the track or dyno test it. If you run over 105 mph, or if you pull 300+ rwhp, you probably have a cam in there.
You could also try taking an emissions test and if you fail on hydrocarbons, that could also indicate that you have a cam

Does it have any other noticable bolt on mods like a cold air induction or headers? That will make it pull a lot harder. Or maybe it has better gears, 3:73's or 4:10's maybe. When I added 4:10's I thought the car pulled much harder from a stop, it really changed the feel of the car.

ALSO pull the valve covers, if they did a cam they'd most likely do the rockers too. You should know a good set of rockers when you see them compared to the stockers!
Then again it might just be new car sysndrome....I know I felt like my car was the badest on the road until I got creamed by a 351 powered 93 Cobra
Check the lift at the rocker.... may be a good indication of something "different".
I know the LPE 211/219 is super mild and in some cars the cam isn't even noticable... pulls real nice though. The point on rear gears is also a good one.

If you haven't owned a camaro before, I would tend to think that maybe you were just underestimating what the badboy could do. LT1s have some crazy mad torque, you would definitely FEEL fast from a stop because of it.

I have driven f-bodys and tons of caprices. I would compare the fell to my cousins 99 stang when he hits the Noz at 45 Mph.
What would a diffrent cam sound like? What idel rpm is stock and would that change. Not sure how to tell if the heads are Aftermarket or not. but it looks like it had exaust and CAI befor and was taken off befor they sold it...

try looking at the timing chain cover that should help you see if its ever been off. there will probably be rtv sealant on it and maybe some scratches where they tried to get it off and back on. something easy that i would do is pull the oil fill cap off and shine an led or pen light in there and get a look at the rockers. and like some other guys said put a vaccum gauge on it.
