Is there any way to install the timing cover without dropping the oil pan?

Is there any way to install the timing cover without dropping the oil pan?

I've been trying for the last 2 hours to get the f'ing timing cover on, but it keeps pushing one side of the pan gasket in behind.


And i would like this opportunity to say whoever designed the timing cover and coolant crossover tube should have to travel around the country actually installing these stupid pieces of **** for all eternity.

Yep. Front of the pan has to be lowered enough to to fit the gasket over the bottom of the timing cover, or it will leak for sure if you try a "shortcut".
