Angry That's all she wrote!

At Atco today, I had to cut in short unfortunately. The track was hooking and feeling great, the air was nice and cold, and on my fifth run, I go to come off the clutch from 4000 rather quickly, and mash the gas, and...........

The rpm's rise, and the car creeps forward.

Smoked the clutch!!!! Arrgh! Got smacked by a 4.6 yellow GT too.

So, in addition to the head/cam install next month, I will be doing a new clutch.

I'm leaning towards a McLeod Street Twin, but got told that the single was ok for up to 450 RWHP. Anyone care to give an opinion or suggestion for a new clutch that will handle about 390 RWHP for a while?

If you plan on staying under 400 hp then a single would be ok I think but it doesnt hurt to overkill unless money is tight right now. I personally bought the street twin cos I tend to overkill and I'm not really sure what my future goals are for this car, all depends if I find a vette stingray cheap enough But anyways, I would just go with the twin IMO.

IMO, get the street twin and be done with it. So many people spend $500+ on a clutch then spend another $500 again just months down the road (I'm one of them) then wish they had just bought the damn street twin for $1000 to start with.

Well, the way I'm looking at it:

At Thunder Racing, I can get the single for about $775. At QTP, I can get the Street Twin for $849. I'm leaning for the Street Twin if that's all the price difference. Either way, I'm gonna be paying.
