TF elbow installed, got a question
TF elbow installed, got a question
i just installed it and i was wondering if it is alright if the tube for the optispark is not connected to the elbow? i didnt want to drill a hole in my elbow so i just tucked the tube behind the cai.
Re: TF elbow installed, got a question
That tube is important because it draws a slight vacuum on the opti spark as the intake air flows past the tube and helps keep it free from moisture...Its the "vent" in your system.

It needs air to be drawn across the tube like from your intake airstream to be effective. I would figure out a way to use it, either farther downstream in the plastic of your CAI (if its plastic) or drill a small hole and use a grommet or small piece of rubber hose to use as a grommet and connect your vent tube.

Though a small amount, the air is still pulled through the intake and aids in the calibration of your fuel mixture.

It should not be left out in the open to draw unfiltered air as the opti will soon quit working.
