Texas Speed TD's

Does anybody have the Texas Speed True Dual set-up on their car? If so do you have pics? I am thinking about going to true duals, and want to see how the ground clearence is on this set-up.

TSP's only offers an LS1 setup right now. As you should know the ls1 setup doesn't fit on the lt1's with out some modifications. There LT1's true dual setup should be coming out soon.

Then why do they have a true dual for sale under the 93-97 camaro section of their website?

Yeah I saw the true dual set-up on the LT1 section. I didn't see it when I bought my Rumbler about 6 months ago. So maybe they released em?

The TSP setup is adjustable to fit different brands of headers, and likely for LT1 cars. But you really have to mess with it to get it to tuck up well and have good ground clearance. IMO, for the price you pay for them, you'd be better off getting Summit's or Jeg's universal X pipe kit and taking that to a muffler shop and having them tweak it and welded it all up. You'll come out about the same price or less than the TSP. Also, there was a long thread about 1.5 years ago by Poorman who bolted on Summit's kit to his Jet-Hot headers without any modifications.

Re: Texas Speed TD's

I have the TSP X-pipe system for the LS1 on the way as well as a set of Kook's stepped headers. I called and talked to Brian at TSP and he said they do not have an X-pipe system for the LT1 yet. He said the ONLY modification I would have to do to make the LS1 system fit is bend the driver's side pipe about 3/4" one way and it would slide right on. I felt like for $400, they were on sale at the time , and free shipping it was the best deal for ME. I don't want to hassle with collecting all the parts, paying a bunch of shipping and handling charges, and then having to take it somewhere with the exhaust in pieces and have someone weld it up wrong and then tell me what I bought was a bunch of junk and that's why my ground clearance now sucks or the exhaust looks terrible now because I didn't buy the parts from him or let him make it. But, someone else may get a kick out of that kind of stuff. If you order from TSP, it's all there and for the most part, ready to go. Just gotta take the driver's side piece to a muffler shop and have them bend it.

As far as ground clearance goes, it's like Brian told me, if you start with 5" of clearance and put a 3" exhaust system under the car, at most you'll have 2" of ground clearance. Simple math.

I got my Jeg's universal X-pipe kit for $210 shipped w/reducers, bullets, and turndowns...welded it myself and it's awesome.

Re: Texas Speed TD's

You can see the exhaust setup I built myself.

A few rows down the page

Ground clearance is 3-1/2" bottom of the tips with a 28" tire when measured on the ground.

I have around $375 in it.

My true duals either clear a 12 oz coke can or come close. Compared to the stock exhaust, I lost at most an inch of clearance in a couple spots. My setup was also built on a jig (Lane doesn't have a jig for LT1 cars) and shipped to me welded. If it had been built by a shop, chances are, I would have even better clearance.
