Temperature gauge not working

hasnt worked in 8 months or so

it used to jump all around and never give an accurate reading anyway. now it just sits at zero.

what do i need to do to get it to work? i'm getting a new thermostat 160 degree soon. What is the likely issue with the gauge?

Look for loose a wire or connection .The sensor only has 1 wire from it. Start at the sensor in the head, drivers side and work your way back. It is a small wire and it could have been burnt.
