I have a 95 z28 and when i went to start my car, the temp worked, when it hit around 180 it just dropped down passed 160 not doing anythinng......so where can i check to see if its the sensor or the sending unit?? where is it located????? thanx alot

 

The sensor is located on the driver side exhaust manifold , right in front. VERY easy to remove and re install.

 

It's actually on the head.
