Temp sensor doesn't have wires...help

My temp sensor is installed but there aren't any wires coming from the sensor and my guage doesn't work . I need to know what temp the engine is running at. How do I fix this? I cannot find any wires anywhere that even remotely suggest they go to the sensor. I have a two prong sensor.

Which temp sensor? No, the sensors don't come with wires. You are going to have to find the harness connector. Make it so.

The sensor that runs the gauge. I believe its on the drivers side below the headers. I will look again. It had a plug in connector (sorry) but doesnt have one now and I cant find any wires that go to it. I need something to read coolant temp. What can I hook up to make this work. thanks...

That is a one wire sensor. The wire going to it should be dark green.

The sensor goes on a 94Z28. Is it in the same place as your pic? The sensor I was talking about is a two prong one. I will look again. There is a green wire hanging around but the end is broken. I can hook it back up tho when i make sure I have the right sensor. thanks for the help...

Your 94 Z28 LT1 has two coolant temperature sensors on it. One is in the drivers side head, between #1 and #3 plugs, and is a single-wire sensor that feeds the coolant temp gauge. The second one is located in the water pump housing, is a 2-wire sensor, and feeds the PCM.

Which one are you talking about?

The sensor in the head is the same. It may have the shape of a two wire connector, but it only uses one wire. One side is a dummy.

The sensor in the water pump uses two wires. The sensors used in both places are not the same.

The one between the heads I think. The one near the water pump has a connector I believe. I am going out to check on it now.
