TEA heads

Is anyone running these heads? If so, what is your setup and what kind of #s are you putting up at the track? Also, if you still know, what were your flow #s?

Thanks
Jeremy

I know a guy with some on order that sould be in any day/week now. When they arive he said he will bring them to me and have me flow them. I will have to check with him first but if he is cool with it I will have flow #'s for anyone interested. In all fairness I will not have a test pipe on exhaust so the #'s will be a LITTLE off from what they advertise but the intake #'s are VERY close to what they advertise from what I have heard.

I do not know anyone running them and i have never flowed a set but they do have a good reputation FWIW.

I am interested in seeing those numbers too. They are about 2 hours away from me. I am considering ordering a set if I do not find a better deal before the end of summer. I have heard goods things so far!

I have never heard any thing bad about them and lots of good things about them. The only "knock" is that their exhaust flow #'s do not flow these #'s on other benches. They use some "special" pipe on the exhaust or the flow bench doesn't compare to Superflow exhaust #'s. They claim over 230 cfm on the exhaust and even if they only flow 200 cfm on the exhaust on a Superflow bench with no pipe they are still an AWESOME head. I told him to not be discouraged with a 200 cfm ex # because as long as the low and mid lift #'s are descent that exhaust port will be better than ALOT of other heads that are $2000 plus. I wanted to flow them so I can see what the exhaust port actually flows and if it winds up flowing better than expacted I will have an AWESOME exhaust port to look at and see if I can figure out some tricks.

FWIW the advertised flow #'s "look" possible. They do not claim "47" cfm at .050 or "161" cfm at .200 lift like some other people that either do not flow the heads at all or are testing with a leak or a WAY OFF flow bench. All in all their #'s "SEEM" doable, I will know in a few days/weeks.

I have their heads with everything else in my sig....I do love them...they helped the car out a lot. I do not have dyno or track times yet b/c I dont wanna race on street tires....but hopefully i will soon. Here are the flow numbers with their stage 2 job, 3 angle valve but with stock valves.

int. exh.
.200 142.1 111.7
.300 200.2 165.4
.400 242.7 204.3
.500 270.1 229.1
.550 267.2 236.3
.600 267.1 243.9

Now i know the exhause side is high b/c of how they flow them but every one has told me to take off between 20-30 for that...so you can do whatever just trying to help you guys out with some numbers.

tea

First time out with these heads I went 109.3 that was with stock injectors,no tune, and my knock sensor broken(12 degree retard!) No N2O. Flow numbers are are on my website. I am not a website creator, deal with it.

Your intake #s are a little werid, in that they keep increasing in flow up until .5 lift then they fall off a little. Do you know why they do that or is that common with all tea heads that you or anyone else has seen?

Just became a TEA dealer. Mostly for the LS1 stuff, but the LT1 heads are a great deal.

The product is great. Very consistent from set to set, which is the big reason that we sell them. I can't have heads going on engines that are way off, because then I can't be for sure what that engine combo will do. On Speed Inc's chassis dyno their LS1 heads pull some very close numbers, all with different cams. They average around 425rwhp and have seen up to 440rwhp, but they are all within 10rwhp. Other vendors that Speed has vary up to 40rwhp regularly. That's a big difference, gotta love a lower cost head that performs consistently everytime.

There will be a set of LT4 heads here in the next few days going on a 383. I'll get some pics of them for you guys to check out. With stock valves in them they flow 288 @ .550, 290 @ .600 Intake and 250 @ .550, 255 @ .600 Exhaust. All of that and they are cheaper than the AFR 210's and out flow them up the curve. Should make a good healthy amount of power with a .600 lift cam in that 383.

The advertised LT1 numbers are:
Lift Int Ex
.100" 64 53
.200" 135 110
.300" 195 155
.400" 238 192
.500" 260 215
.550" 263 225
.600" 265 232

For $150 you can have them hand finished and that usually finds another 5 cfm up top and 10 cfm on the lower lifts.

Heads come with 987 Springs Installed too, but we can upgrade or change to match your cam.

$1499+core, and they beat alot of $2000 heads I have seen easy.

The exhaust numbers are high, I talked on the phone with the owner Brian Tooley the other day. His ports are really small and he's seen huge exhaust ports on heads not flow anywhere near his numbers. Most shops spend about 10-20% of the time on the exhaust ports, since these are a CNC program they've spent more time developing them to make them a better exhaust port, which in he end allows you to run less exhaust duration and helps even more on N2O.

We are also work out a coating deal. I've seen on dyno engines a 10 hp increase with coatings, and the hotter you get the engine the more power they find. Coatings work awesome on street cars since they keep the performance consistent.

On top of that if you want, we also will port match the intake to the heads. Not gasket match, but match the ports. If you want you can also get the intake bored out for a 52mm or 58mm TB.

Anyways, if you have any questions on these heads, feel free to e-mail me or ask.
