TB bypass? Good or bad?

i know most people do the bypass mod. I am probably gonna do it today. I also know that it is there to heat up the throttle body in really cold days so it does ice. But i remember reading somewhere that in really hot days it will cool it down. I live in cali and around where i live in the summer it is usually in the 90 -100. So do you think this could hurt performance for me?

There's no wat the coolant cools down the throttle body. Before I did the bypass I couldn't touch it. Now I can lean on it if I wanted to.

I highly recomended!!! do it.. here is why. I used to live in los Angeles.. on hot days my car would start strong and drive strong but as soon as the engine was fully warmed.. it would just bog down it wasnt quick on its wheels anymore...

I dont think I gained horsepower from the cold engine horsepower standpoint... I think I recovered all the power lost after the engined warmed up.

I never ...ever put the hoses back.. I live in Hawaii now and there is no diff when the engine is cold to fully warmed up in a hot day... power wise that is... Oh and if you can do the 160* thermostat mod... I did mine no long ago and it actually feels better. I however, have been testing a piggy back fan mod of my own design and I keep the fans coming on at 180* Heck it even made the AC more efficient.

Do it man.. if you in Cali I highly recomended.... oh and I never failed the Cali Emisions test.... even the new one on the dyno.

That mod is Mandatory....

Yeah thats what I was looking at. But I think my '94 is a little different but it will probably work. will I need to cap off both ends or just the hose?

94 is easier if you ask me both your lines are on the throttle body what i di was went and bought a barb and ran the line that goes on the drivers side of the throttle body, and i followed the hose from the passanger side of throttle body it runs to a T in the coolant line and i just ran hose from the barb to the T.

Careful there guys... my car 95z28 A4 Twin Cat Cali model had a hose going into driver side of the Throttle and the coolant came out the passenger side side.. just to plug to that metalic pipe runing along the Intake manifold on the passenger side...(thats how I remember it)

All I did was disconec the hose on the Driver side... remove the small hose on passenger side and the plug the Driver side hose into the passenger side metalic pipe...

did I make sense??? I removed the short one... and plugged the long one the where the short one was plugged.... I put a couple of rubber caps on the Throttle body coolant conections...

simple but not easy... I had problems removing the hoses... be very careful...
