the ones that are 50$
are they any good?
anybody have any problems with them?
the local shop quoted me at 80$ for their cheapest set, so i'm thinking of these to save money

Re: taylor wires any good?

I've used them for almost the life of my car. Never had any problems and you can get them for the LT1 also so you don't have to make them. Summit is about the cheapest you can get I think.

Another vote for them, and for Summit.

Re: taylor wires any good?

I have seen people on here say they have had problems with them, but I have been running the Taylor OVC setup without any problem.

They are alright, ive burnt one but replaced it and routed it better with no problems. They look purdy and seem durable. I dont think your friend installed them right or used dielectric grease for all of them to arc. I did a diy wire without the crimper and have no troulbes.

I have had them fail on 2 different cars. Would never buy them again. I run Accel 300+ 8.8 wires with no problems.

Re: taylor wires any good?

There's going to be people who say they have had problems (and they have) and others who swear by the Taylors. I fall under the latter and my Taylor's with the vertical mount kit have been awesome. With MSD, Taylor, even Accel you cant really go wrong. A wire is a wire and prone to failing or succeeding just as much as any other wire. You can get the premade set for stock AND OVC mounting now as well. I prefer making my own because its the way I want it but hey, everyone's different. All in all, Taylor's good stuff and definitely go OVC...its way too convenient not to.

Re: taylor wires any good?

We use taylor on all our motors and love them, we always have cars on the dyno with ingintion problems, half the time it is other brands wires that are breaking down, the scope shows this very quickly. Personally I have used both taylor and MSD and was very happy with both, I have had the same set of MSD's on my mustang for 5 years and it still shows perfect continuity on the scope.

Re: taylor wires any good?

So are those OVC Taylors premade sets for the LT1's or you make them yourself?
