I have the same question. I will be doing wires and plugs soon on my 95. I don't have headers yet and probably won't for a while. Whats the best to go with???

Re: taylor wires?

Are they precut and assembled or do you have to make them yourself?

Re: taylor wires?

MSD has 2 sets of Super Conductor wires that they make for the LT1s for Camaros/Formulas(TA), MSD-32149 is a set of premade wires for 96-97 cars that will work to run in the stock locations, they also have the set MSD-32129 which has the LT1 distributor boots on one end and they are not premade, so you have to cut them and crimp the terminal on yourself. The 32129s are good if you want to route the wires over the valve cover. Both sets will actually work on all years 93-97 but, the difference is that there is a coil design change from 95-96. 95 and older cars need the spark plug style boot on one end for the coil, 96 and 97 cars need the optispark style boot on both ends. The 32149s have the correct coil wire for 96-97 cars, I don't remember about the 32129s, they may or may not come with both styles of boots for the coil wire.

Re: taylor wires?

Here is the part number for the stock length Taylor wires that I ordered for my car from Summit: TAY-74239

The kit also came with two ignition coil wires,(one for each style), so the kit is compatible with all 93-97 LT1s.

Re: taylor wires?

I see on the site there is a universal set if i get them will they be the ones i can make to go over the valve covers.I have long tube headers so i have problems with wires burning.

Re: taylor wires?

If you have long tubes, then I would go with the set that will allow you to cut and make your own. Otherwise, you will have to be careful using stock length wires as they have many catch spots on the headers.

The application for that set just says 96-97. You sure it will work with a 95???

Re: taylor wires?

Maybe Taylor changed things up and is only including the one coil wire specific to your application? Looking closely at the picture, I count only 9 wires so they definitely are not giving the two styles of wires. If thats the case, then you would just have to get the set specific to your year.

Re: taylor wires?

Taylor wires suck ***. Go with MSD or Accel.
